Namibia to Consider Raising Areva Desalination Plant’s Capacity

Namibia said it will consider raising the capacity of a water desalination plant it offered to buy from Areva SA once the transaction is completed.

The southwest African nation has started preliminary talks to take control of the 20 million cubic-meter (706 million cubic-foot) facility, which Paris-based Areva first built to secure supplies for its Trekkopje uranium project that was mothballed in 2012 due to low prices of the nuclear fuel.
