NFL’s Vincent Told Peterson Ban Guided by Old Conduct Policy

Updated on

The National Football League’s executive vice president of operations told suspended Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson that he wasn’t subject to the league’s revamped conduct policy, according to a transcript of his testimony at an arbitration hearing.

Troy Vincent during the Dec. 4 hearing said it was his understanding, which he conveyed to Peterson, that the player wouldn’t be subject to the harsher punishment guidelines because his child-abuse incident occurred prior to the implementation of the new policy.
