Manila Water to Build Philippines’ Biggest Treatment Plant

Manila Water Co. is building what would be the Philippines’ largest sewage-treatment plant in a move to improve urban green and sustainability works.

The Ayala Corp.-owned company, supplier of water to half of the Philippines’ most populous city, said it broke ground today on the water-treatment facility that will have a 100 million liter (26.4 million gallons) a day capacity, InterAksyon reported. The plant in metropolitan Manila’s eastern Pasig area is targeted for completion by December 2016.
