Crocodile Kills Golfer in S. Africa’s Lake Panic, Lowvelder Says

A crocodile attacked and killed a 29-year-old golfer at Lake Panic at the Skukuza Golf Club in eastern South Africa, the Lowvelder newspaper reported on its website, citing a police spokesman.

The golfer was killed at about 11 p.m. local time yesterday after jumping into the lake several times, the newspaper said. He had been at the club house on the nine-hole course.

The 3.9 meter (13-foot) crocodile was later shot and killed by a ranger who found it with the victim’s body, the newspaper said.
