Every college-bound high school student hopes to ace his or her SATs, right? In a depressing example of the power of peer pressure, a new study shows the answer is “maybe not,” particularly if you don’t hang out with nerds. High schoolers in non-honors classes who were offered a free SAT prep course were more likely to turn it down if they thought their peers would find out, according to new research.
