Storm Forecast Shifts Snow Into NYC as Thanksgiving Looms

A coastal storm may spread as much as 6 inches of snow across the northern parts of New York City and more from the mountains of Virginia to New England on the day before Thanksgiving.

Rain is forecast to change to snow in New York around noon Nov. 26 and persist throughout the day, said David Stark, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Upton, New York. From 4 to 6 inches is forecast in the northern part of the city and 2 to 4 in lower Manhattan.
