Liberty Global Sees German Watchdog Open to Vodafone Deal

Liberty Global Plc co-Chief Financial Officer Charles Bracken said that regulators would probably give their permission if Vodafone Group Plc tries to buy its German business.

“I think they would approve it,” Bracken told a small group of attendees yesterday after an investor presentation in Barcelona. If Vodafone were to make an offer, it would be up to Liberty Global’s billionaire Chairman John Malone to decide whether he wants to sell, he said. Vodafone and Liberty Global own the two biggest cable operators in Germany.
