Rising Shipping Traffic Adds to Unseen Ocean Pollution

Global maritime traffic has quadrupled in the past two decades, resulting in significantly elevated—but often overlooked—levels of air and water pollution. A new study in the journal Geophysical Research Letters attempts to measure the environmental impacts of increased cargo movement along major sea lanes.
