Spanish Parliament Calls on Rajoy to Recognize Palestine

The Spanish Parliament unanimously passed a non-binding motion asking Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy to recognize the Palestinian state.

“The parliament asks the government to: recognize Palestine as a state, under international law, reaffirming the conviction that the only possible solution to the conflict is the co-existence of two states” the motion said. Spain “should use its membership of the Security Council to help find a fair and lasting solution.”
