Kerry Urges U.S.-China Cooperation Despite Differences

Updated on

Secretary of State John Kerry called for the U.S. and China to work together to confront the threat of climate change and other challenges, emphasizing the two nations’ potential for cooperation over competition.

Describing the U.S.-China relationship as “the most consequential in the world,” Kerry said in remarks yesterday at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington that it’s essential for the countries to collaborate while managing their differences over issues such as personal freedom and cybersecurity.
