Ibovespa Futures Fall Before Release of New Brazilian Poll Data

Ibovespa futures dropped on concern new voter poll results will show Senator Aecio Neves is struggling to overtake President Dilma Rousseff three days before the election runoff.

Air carrier Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA may move as a measure of profitability increased. Cetip SA, Brazil’s biggest securities clearinghouse, may be active after HSBC Holdings Plc cut its recommendation on the stock to the equivalent of hold.

Ibovespa futures contracts expiring in December fell 1.3 percent to 52,510 at 9:28 a.m. in Sao Paulo. Brazil’s benchmark stock index had rallied as much as 38 percent from this year’s low on bets Rousseff would be voted out of office after overseeing the slowest growth for any presidency since 1992. It pared that gain to 17 percent as support for the incumbent’s re-election bid increased.

Newspaper Folha de S.Paulo and Globo TV channel may release today results of a Datafolha election poll while Globo TV and O Estado de S. Paulo newspaper may give new Ibope poll data. Recent surveys have shown a statistical tie.

Trading volume of equities in Sao Paulo was 7.03 billion reais yesterday, according to the exchange. That compares with a daily average of 7.1 billion reais this year.
