Tainted Lard Strikes Again in Taiwan

Taiwan is once again obsessed with the dangers of lard. Following reports last month that a Taiwanese company was reusing industrial oil in food products, one of the island’s leading foodmakers has been caught in another food-safety scandal, with Taiwanese prosecutors yesterday detaining three executives from companies belonging to Ting Hsin International to investigate charges the companies used lard in their products that was meant for animal consumption.
