BNP Paribas Hires 19 People to Boost Asia Cash Equities Team

BNP Paribas SA hired 19 people to boost its cash equities and advisory business in the Asia-Pacific region.

France’s biggest bank added the new staff members over the past three months, Lilian Goh, a Hong Kong-based spokeswoman, said by phone today. Reuters reported the hiring earlier.

Among the recruits are seven research analysts for its cash-equity division, including former UBS AG analyst Ghee Peh, according to a statement from the Paris-based company. Four sales executives were added, including Sahil Asija, previously of Macquarie Group Ltd.

Five sales traders joined the French bank, among them former China International Capital Corp. employee Christopher Jung, the statement showed. Ken Leung, previously at JPMorgan Chase & Co., joined as a director of the electronic trading team, while the remaining two were hired for the transactional coverage group.
