Bank of Nova Scotia Hires Andrew Spence as Portfolio Manager

Bank of Nova Scotia, Canada’s third-biggest lender by assets, hired Andrew Spence as a portfolio manager.

Scotiabank spokeswoman Myra Reisler confirmed Spence started Oct. 6 as vice president and portfolio manager at Scotiabank Global Institutional Asset Management.

Spence had been working since 2012 at Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, the Toronto-based pension fund manager. He has also served as global head of research for rates and foreign exchange with TD Securities, the investment-banking unit of Toronto-Dominion Bank, and as a special adviser to Canada’s central bank in Ottawa.
