Silk Road’s Ulbricht Loses Bid to Suppress E-Mail Evidence

The man accused by the U.S. of running the $1.2 billion online black market bazaar Silk Road, under the alias of “Dread Pirate Roberts,” lost a bid to have evidence seized by the government kept out of his trial.

U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest today rejected Ross William Ulbricht’s argument that U.S. investigators didn’t have the legal authority to search his Gmail and Facebook accounts, a server in Iceland or a laptop.
