U.S. Air Force Jet Crashes in Field in Lincolnshire, U.K.

A U.S. Air Force fighter jet has crashed in a field in an “isolated rural area” in Lincolnshire, England.

“The plane crashed and the pilot did eject and is safe,” Rose Richeson, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Air Force, said by phone, adding that it was a F-15D fighter craft. Lincolnshire Police said in a statement that the pilot had suffered “only very minor injury.”

A cordon had been placed around the crashed site to protect the public from fumes from a fire that had started on the aircraft, according to the statement.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
