Islamic State Undeterred by Bombs Seizes Territory in Iraq

Islamic State attacked the western Iraqi town of Hit, seizing its hospital and outlying districts, as the group signaled its resilience in the face of a U.S.-led bombing campaign.

The attack on Hit, on the main road to the Syrian border, saw suicide car bombs and mortars hit police headquarters and checkpoints, according to Gen. Ahmed al-Dulaimi, police chief of Anbar province.
