Tesla Expands in Hong Kong to Tap Electric Vehicle Demand

Tesla Motors Inc. will double its workforce in Hong Kong as the electric car maker expands in a market the company said could become the “Norway of Asia.”

Tesla’s workforce in Hong Kong will exceed 100 people by the end of the year, and the company has hired a country director for the Chinese city, the Hong Kong government said in a statement on its website today. The small size of the territory’s main island -- less than 10 miles wide -- means customers will need to charge their cars only once a week, according to the statement.
