Canada July Average Weekly Earnings Rise 3.3% From Year Earlier

Canadian average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees rose 3.3 percent in July from a year earlier, accelerating from a revised 2.9 percent in June.

On a monthly basis, earnings rose 0.4 percent to C$940.43 ($846.47), Statistics Canada said today in Ottawa.

The average length of the workweek was 33.0 hours in July, unchanged from June and from a year ago, Statistics Canada said.

Non-farm payroll employment rose by 42,300 in July to 15.61 million, a gain of 0.3 percent from a month earlier and a 1.3 over the prior year.
