Sorin Capital Hires Former Marketer for SAC Capital Chris Rae

Sorin Capital Management LLC, a hedge fund specializing in real estate, hired former SAC Capital Advisors LP marketing executive Chris Rae.

Rae will oversee marketing and investor relations at the Stamford, Connecticut-based fund manager, according to an e-mailed statement dated yesterday.

Rae left billionaire Steven Cohen’s SAC Capital in 2013 after five years with the firm. Cohen changed the name of the firm this year to Point72 Asset Management LP, which manages his own money. He agreed to stop managing money for clients and pay a record $1.8 billion to settle U.S. charges of insider trading.

Sorin was founded in 2004 by Jim Higgins, a former co-head of the commercial-mortgage bond group at Bear Stearns Cos. The firm has about $550 million in assets under management.
