Horschel Wins Tour Championship to Take $10 Million FedEx Bonus

Billy Horschel won the U.S. PGA Tour’s season-ending Tour Championship by three shots and captured the $10 million FedEx Cup bonus.

Horschel shot a 2-under 68 in yesterday’s final round for an 11-under total of 269 at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club, three shots better than Jim Furyk and Rory McIlroy.

Horschel, 27, finished the FedEx Cup playoffs with 4,750 points for a 1,650-point margin over fellow American Chris Kirk, who entered the weekend as the points leader.

“I’m on cloud nine,” Horschel told reporters. “It’s unbelievable.”

After taking this week off, 12-man teams of U.S. and European players will head to Scotland for the Ryder Cup matches from Sept. 26-28.
