Knicks Add Cleamons Among Four Assistants to Rookie Coach Fisher

The New York Knicks added four assistants to rookie coach Derek Fisher’s staff, including 64-year-old Jim Cleamons, who worked alongside Phil Jackson in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Cleamons was an assistant coach to Jackson for nine National Basketball Association championship teams with the Bulls and Lakers. He was also head coach of the Dallas Mavericks for part of two seasons.

Jackson, who is in his first season as the Knicks’ president of basketball operations, also brought in Rasheed Hazzard, Brian Keefe and Joshua Longstaff as assistants.

Hazzard spent five seasons with the Lakers from 2006-11, working in player development and as an advance scout, while Keefe and Longstaff were most recently with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
