Irish Swimmers Told to Avoid Parts of Coast on Water Quality

Irish authorities restricted bathing off parts of the east coast because of poor water quality.

After taking samples on Aug. 5, Fingal County Council advised swimmers not to enter the water off parts of north Dublin, including Rush and Skerries. Repeat samples were taken today, and results will be released on Aug. 9.

In parts of Brittas Bay, south of Dublin, bathing was prohibited due to “poor microbiological quality,” Wicklow County Council said in a statement on its web site.
