Credit Suisse Hires Jalinoos as Currency-Strategy Head

Credit Suisse Group AG has hired Shahab Jalinoos as head of global foreign-exchange strategy, according to a person familiar with the decision.

Jalinoos, previously a senior currency strategist for UBS AG in Stamford, Connecticut, will start with the Zurich-based bank in September, said the person, who declined be identified.

Andrina Schwartz, a spokeswoman for Credit Suisse, declined to comment.

Prior to UBS, Jalinoos worked as a proprietary trader at Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc and Artradis, a hedge fund.

Citigroup Inc., based in New York, is the biggest dealer in the foreign-exchange market based on Euromoney Institutional Investor Plc data, followed by Deutsche Bank AG in Frankfurt and London’s Barclays Plc. UBS AG was ranked fourth. Credit Suisse wasn’t in the top 10.
