Qatar, Russia World Cup Reports to Be Ready by Early September

A panel investigating the award of World Cups to Russia and Qatar will give its evidence to global soccer’s judicial body to consider by early September, nearly two months later than originally planned.

The FIFA committee is looking into possible violations of the body’s code of ethics and will give its report to the adjudicatory chamber to consider. On June 2, the panel led by American attorney Michael Garcia anticipated delivering the evidence within six weeks, but said in an e-mailed statement today that the report will be handed over by the first week of September, without giving a reason.
