RBS Provides Funding to Banks Renewables Wind Farm in Lancashire

Banks Renewables Ltd., part of the Banks Group that develops land for property, mining and energy, received 11.7 million pounds ($20 million) from the Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc to build a land-based wind farm.

The wind farm in Lancashire, in England’s northwest, will comprise three turbines for a total of 7.5 megawatts, the Durham-based company said today in an e-mailed statement. It’s expected to be connected to the grid early next year.

“Banks Renewables’ long-term ambition is to develop, construct and operate a sizable portfolio of onshore wind farms across the north of England and Scotland,” Phil Dyke, development director at Banks Renewables, said in the statement.
