Astrum Getting $100 Million From Hudson for Rooftop Solar Panels

Astrum Solar Inc., a Maryland-based installer of residential solar systems, is getting as much as $100 million from Hudson Clean Energy Partners LP to install panels on homes.

The funds will allow Astrum to expand more quickly into additional U.S. markets, the Annapolis Junction-based company said today in an e-mailed statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Astrum installed its first system in 2009 and has customers in 11 states in the Midwest and along the East Coast and in California, according to its website. Homeowners may buy systems or lease them with little to no upfront cost.

The closely held company raised $7.5 million in November to expand on both coasts.
