SPI Solar to Build 50-Megawatt Plant in China’s Jiangxi Province

A subsidiary of SPI Solar Inc., a U.S. developer of photovoltaic-energy systems, has agreed to build a 50-megawatt power plant in China’s Jiangxi Province.

The project will be built in Yangqiao, Fenyi County by Xinyu Xinwei New Energy Co., Roseville, California-based SPI Solar said today in a statement. It will be one of the largest solar farms in the province. Terms weren’t disclosed.

The Fenyi County government is supporting project construction and offering incentives to the developer to expedite grid connection, according to the statement.
