Platini Says FIFA Needs ‘Breath of Fresh Air’ After Blatter Rule

Soccer ruling body FIFA needs a “breath of fresh air” after Sepp Blatter’s 16-year leadership, Michel Platini, president of European authority UEFA said, according to the transcript of an interview with L’Equipe and Agence France-Presse.

Platini said he will “take his time” and announce at the Champions League draw -- which is in Monaco on Aug. 28 -- whether he will stand against Blatter, whose current term ends next year, according to the transcript supplied by UEFA.
