Sloane Stephens Loses to Simona Halep at French Open Tennis

Sloane Stephens was beaten by fourth-ranked Simona Halep, 6-4, 6-3 in the fourth round of the French Open.

The 15th-seeded Stephens was the last player from the U.S. left in the singles draw at Roland Garros in Paris.

Defending champion Serena Williams of the U.S. was upset in the second round of the French Open. Second-seed Li Na of China and the third-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland also lost early, leaving Halep as the highest seed in the women’s singles.
