Fink Doesn’t Believe BlackRock Hurt by High-Speed Trading

BlackRock Inc.’s Laurence D. Fink said he doesn’t think the world’s largest money manager has been hurt by high-frequency trading, despite “disturbing” allegations about the practice.

“I do not believe we have been harmed in terms of high-frequency trading, but I may be wrong” Fink, the 61-year-old chief executive officer of New York-based BlackRock, said today in a telephone interview. “What we do focus on is making sure that we remain a sophisticated market participant on behalf of our clients.”
