Severn Trent’s Garfield to Take Over April 11 for Retiring Wray

Severn Trent Plc, the second-largest publicly traded water company in the U.K., said Liv Garfield will take over as chief executive officer effective April 11 when Tony Wray retires.

The Coventry-based company, named for Britain’s two biggest rivers, announced the appointment last November of the former BT Group Plc executive who headed its Openreach unit without giving an exact succession date this spring.

She will also join the water utility’s board of directors next month, Severn Trent said today in a statement.

Joe Garner, formerly at HSBC Holdings Plc, replaced Garfield as Openreach CEO last month.
