Ukraine Central Bank Plans Stress Tests for Lenders, Kubiv Says

Ukraine plans to conduct stress tests for commercial lenders after the country’s currency weakened and deposit withdrawals accelerated, central bank Governor Stepan Kubiv said.

The Natsionalnyi Bank Ukrainy and the International Monetary Fund will jointly conduct the assessment “to test how banks’ capital may change should the hryvnia lose 25 percent more against the dollar,” Kubiv told reporters today in Kiev.
