Russia’s Metalloinvest Gets $1.2 Billion Loan Amid Crimea Crisis

Metalloinvest Holding Co., the Russian iron ore business owned by billionaire Alisher Usmanov, got a $1.2 billion loan even as leaders in the U.S. and Europe prepare to impose further sanctions over the crisis in Crimea.

The deal matures in 2016 and 2019 and will be used to refinance debt, according to company statements. Lenders include BNP Paribas SA, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd., Credit Agricole SA, Credit Suisse Group AG, Deutsche Bank AG, ING Groep NV, Societe Generale SA and UniCredit SpA.
