Noesis Receives $6 Million to Promote Energy-Management Service

Noesis Energy Inc., a closely held provider of energy-management technology, received $6 million as part of its Series B funding round to promote its services.

Black Coral Capital and Austin Ventures, which participated in an $8 million funding round in August to expand the company’s sales and marketing operations, also provided equity for this second tranche, said Dave Jaros, a Noesis spokesman.

Noesis, based in Austin, uses a “freemium” business model -- it provides a free, online system that monitors users’ energy consumption and charges for premium upgrades.

The funds will be used “to help project developers in identifying and securing third-party financing,” Jaros said in a phone interview today.
