Citigroup’s Sheets to Shift to Counselor Role at U.S. Treasury

Nathan Sheets, Citigroup Inc.’s global head of international economics, will become a counselor to U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew starting next week, a department official said.

The official declined to say whether Sheets is a candidate to be nominated as the Treasury’s undersecretary for international affairs. That position was vacated in November by Lael Brainard, who was nominated last month to be a Federal Reserve governor.

Sheets previously worked at the Fed for 18 years, according to his Citigroup biography.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
