CPC Plans to Shut Gasoline Unit at Taoyuan From Feb. to April

CPC Corp., Taiwan’s state-owned oil refiner, will shut a gasoline-making unit at its Taoyuan refinery for maintenance next month.

The company will close the 50,000 barrel-a-day residue fluid catalytic cracker from February through April, Chang Ray-chung, a company spokesman in Taipei, said by phone today.

CPC will also shut its No. 5 naphtha cracker from May through July, Chang said. The unit has a processing capacity of 500,000 metric tons a year.

A crude distillation unit at Taoyuan with capacity of 100,000 barrels a day has been shut for work, Chang said.
