Avianca Climbs for Fifth Day as JPMorgan Picks Colombian Airline

Avianca Holdings SA, Colombia’s biggest airline, gained for a fifth straight day to the highest since May as JPMorgan Chase & Co. called the stock its top pick among Latin American carriers.

The shares rose 4.1 percent to 4,405 pesos at 3:09 p.m. in Bogota, extending the rally this month to 19 percent, which makes the stock the best performer on the Colcap. They fell 18 percent last year after surging 38 percent in 2012. The five-day winning streak is Avianca’s longest in more than a year.
