U.K.’s FTSE 100 Advances as Investors Await U.S. Data

U.K. stocks advanced for a second day, trimming a weekly loss in the benchmark FTSE 100 Index, as investors awaited a report on U.S. industrial production to gauge the health of the world’s largest economy.

The FTSE 100 added 18.86 points, or 0.3 percent, to 6,684.99 at 9:16 a.m. in London. It has rallied 13 percent this year as central banks around the world committed to maintaining stimulus measures. The broader FTSE All-Share Index gained 0.3 percent today, while Ireland’s ISEQ Index slid 0.1 percent.
