The U.S. September jobs report, which was delayed by the 16-day partial shutdown of the federal government, will be released in the coming week.
Apple Inc. will present its latest iPads.
Amazon.com Inc., Ford Motor Co., Credit Suisse Group SA, Samsung Electronics Co., Netflix Inc. and GlaxoSmithKline Plc will be among companies reporting results.
U.S. existing home sales declined in September, data in the coming week will probably show. China will report property price data for September, and the U.K. will be the first G-8 economy to release third-quarter GDP statistics.
European Union leaders will discuss plans for stimulating job creation and recovering from the region’s debt crisis.
The baseball World Series will begin.
