Groningen in the Netherlands is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world. This city in the northern part of the country has a population of 190,000, and 50 percent of all trips are made by bicycle – 60 percent in the city center. A citizen of Groningen rides a bicycle about 10 times per week.
