Bahia State Plans Water Supply Works for Northeast Brazil Towns

Bahia’s state water company Embasa is planning the first stage of modernization works in northeastern Brazil to boost supplies to 28 municipalities, BNAmericas said, citing a statement from the utility.

Initial works by Salvador-based Empresa Baiana de Aguas e Saneamento SA, known as Embasa, to upgrade the Sao Francisco water network including the city of Senhor do Bonfin are budgeted at 480 million reais ($210 million), the news report said, citing technical director Cesar Ramos. It said later works would extend the water network in the city of Jacobina.
