Argentina Seals Soccer World Cup Berth for 11th Straight Time

Argentina beat Paraguay 5-2 to qualify for the soccer World Cup for the 11th straight time.

Lionel Messi scored two penalty kicks and Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria and Maxi Rodriguez added goals for Argentina in Asuncion as the two-time world champion moved to 29 points atop South America’s nine-team group.

The top four nations in the South American standings after 16 matches advance to the 32-team global championship in Brazil, with the fifth-placed country playing off for another spot against Jordan, the winner of Asia’s qualifying playoff.
