Canada’s Banks Ranked World’s Soundest for Sixth Straight Year

Canada’s banking system was ranked the world’s strongest for the sixth straight year by the World Economic Forum.

Canada’s banks received the No. 1 spot in the Geneva-based organization’s Global Competitiveness Report, which was released today. The report includes 148 countries.

“Having a strong and profitable banking system is the backbone of the Canadian economy,” Terry Campbell, president of the Canadian Bankers Association, said in a statement.
