Heat Visit Bulls on NBA Opening Day; Knicks Start Against BucksDex McLuskey
The Miami Heat will begin their bid for a third straight National Basketball Association title on the opening day of the season at the Chicago Bulls.
The New York Knicks will get their 68th NBA season under way the following day, Oct. 30, at home against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Brooklyn Nets play the same day on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Knicks will host the Nets on Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 20, and New York will be at home on Dec. 25 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Nets host the Bulls the same day.
The Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs in a decisive seventh game June 20 to win the NBA championship for a second consecutive year. The Heat will host the Spurs Jan. 26 with a return game in San Antonio on March 6.
The Heat’s season opener is part of a double-header Oct. 29 that includes the Los Angeles Clippers and their new coach Doc Rivers playing the Lakers at Staples Center. The Knicks also kick off a two-game schedule on Oct. 30 when they are followed by the Golden State Warriors at the Clippers.
The Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves will play in Mexico City on Dec. 4, while the Nets and Atlanta Hawks face each other in London on Jan. 16.
The NBA 63rd All-Star Game in New Orleans will be televised Feb. 16.
For the 12th straight season, ABC-TV will broadcast The Finals in June, after TNT televises the NBA Western Conference Finals and ESPN show the Eastern Conference Finals.
