England beat Australia by 14 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-Test Ashes cricket series.

The visitors, needing to reach 311 for victory, were all out for 296 on the afternoon of the final day at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Brad Haddin made 71.

England bowler James Anderson took 10 wickets in the game.
