Validus Says Central Europe Floods Cost Reinsurer $69.6 Million

Validus Holdings Ltd., the reinsurer that bought IPC Holdings Ltd., said floods in central Europe in May and June cost the company about $69.6 million.

Industry losses are probably between $4 billion and $5 billion, the Bermuda-based company said today in a statement distributed by Business Wire.
