Microsoft's Xbox Tops U.S. Retail Console Sales in May

Microsoft Corp. said U.S. retailers sold 114,000 Xbox 360 game consoles in May, helping it retain the top-selling spot for the 29th straight month.

Spending in May on all Xbox products, including the console, Kinect motion-sensing peripheral and software totaled $149.8 million, Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft said today in an e-mail, citing NPD Group Inc. data.

Sales of the console fell 29 percent compared with a year earlier, when it sold 160,000 units.
