BluEarth to Buy Four Canadian Solar Projects for $217 Million

BluEarth Renewables Inc., a Calgary-based independent power producer, agreed to buy four solar-power plants from Canadian Solar Inc. for C$225 million ($217 million).

The projects in Kawartha Lakes, Belleville, Beaverton and Napanee, Ontario, Canada, are expected to be enter operation next year and will have 53.9 megawatts of generating capacity, Canadian Solar said today in a statement.

Construction will begin this year and Canadian Solar will supply 186,000 of its solar panels. The company is based in Guelph, Ontario, and has manufacturing facilities in China.
