Vestas Receives 90-Megawatt Turbine Order for Uruguay Project

Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the wind-turbine maker with the highest installed capacity, received a 90-megawatt turbine order from Compania Forestal Uruguaya SA for the Pintado power plant in Uruguay.

The company will deliver and install 30 3-megawatt turbines beginning in the third quarter and service them for 15 years, according to a statement today from Aarhus, Denmark-based Vestas. The wind farm is expected to be operational by the second quarter of next year.
